Jordan and Joe's wedding at the iconic Blackstone Hotel right in the heart of downtown Chicago is one that I have been SO eager to sit down and write about to share on the blog since their special day unfolded back in September.
The photos below truly speak for themselves, but in essence, the Blackstone Hotel is a historic venue in the city where celebrity, socialite and political icons of the past have stayed over the decades. The Blackstone Hotel is the perfect venue choice for any couple seeking an all inclusive, old Chicago classic aesthetic for their day, boasting absolutely stunning architectural designs and spaces.
As the wedding party got ready in the morning, the ladies enjoyed prime city views in a luxurious suite on one of the highest floors in the building while the guys relaxed and took advantage of the pool billiard table in the hotel's lower level lounge. The energy throughout the morning was upbeat and hopeful, the sun shining and everyone buzzing around the city excited for one of our first days of the year with the perfect crisp fall weather we were all dreaming of after a hot summer.
The Blackstone Hotel is located quite literally right across the street from Grant Park which made for a perfect location for the sweetest first look followed by couple, wedding party and family portraits. The groom's uncle officiated their ceremony, curating it to be personal to them and sweet. A classic white floral design scheme made for the perfect compliment to the beautiful architecture in the Crystal Ballroom. After the ceremony, the couple snuck away into the English room (seriously, so STUNNING!) to sign their license and enjoy some downtime before joining guests for cocktail hour in Art Hall. During this time, our vendor team sprung into action in a true team effort to flip the ballroom to become their reception space in the matter of one hour.
One of my favorite moments of the day was the matron of honor and best man's grand entrance into the reception where they each carried in their baby (the couple's niece and nephew) to surprise guests. Rolling into speeches, there were belly laughs and tears throughout the room. Candles were intertwined with the floral design throughout the reception space, and as the lights dimmed, it became a perfectly moody, romantic atmosphere. The couple cut a traditional, multi-tier cake and had the sweetest choreographed first dance. Jordan also brought her Grandpa onto the dancefloor at one point for a dance just the two of them and it was truly SO so special. TVK Orchestra kept guests on the dancefloor ALL night long and it was truly such a fun party!
It was truly an honor to be part of Jordan and Joe's wedding day and we are wishing them a lifetime of happiness!
